RIGHT TO RETURN

The Palestinian key is the Palestinian symbol of the homes lost in the Nakba, when more than half of the population of Palestine were either expelled or fled violence in the 1948 Palestinian expulsion. Nearly 700,000 Palestinians fled taking their house keys with them, convinced that they would return soon an re-open their front doors. The keys have been passed on from generation to generation as a reminder of their lost homes and as lasting symbols of their ‘right of return’.

They were then denied the RIGHT TO RETURN.
